“Courage is found in unlikely places.”-J.R.R Tolkien
Two things you’ll need to make any major change in your life are a shot of courage and a slice of bravery. Actually, before you even begin to make the changes you’ll need to identify and admit to the necessity of that change. That’s where we especially need a shot of courage and that’s only the beginning. The rest is getting from here to where we want to be.
I mentioned a few weeks ago, it’s my Divorce-ary coming up. It will be 10 years since my initial separation.
” 20 10 years. Where’d they go? 20 10 years. I don’t know. I sit and wonder sometimes, where they’ve gone…” -Bob Segar
Our divorce proceedings dragged on from 2005-2012. Yup, 2012 was the final signing off on an agreement. Ultimately that agreement says everybody’s happy now walk away…
I wrote a post about how to tell the difference between a run of the mill A**hole and a Narcissist. I wrote it about six months ago and it has quickly topped my most popular blog ranking. Yes, there is a difference between an A**hole and a Narcissist and apparently many folks are interested in the subject. Next, I wrote about managing the narcissist in your life. I covered many tips and examples of how to handle the narcissist.
So, now let’s remind ourselves why we are foolish to continue relationships with Narcs and why sometimes even setting boundaries isn’t enough.
It’s hard being a divorcee. We’re a ONE in a world of twos. It’s downright lonely. Eventually, we want to get our toes in the water and begin dating again. We go onto dating sites with hopes of love. How many of you are best friends or let me re-word that; how many of you are simply friends with your ex? I know it’s quite a concept—yet, I believe many strive for that. If we can rise above co-parenting conflict and the division of assets there might be a chance. However, from what I’ve seen it’s about a 20% chance of retaining or working toward friendship post
What’s happening in your month of March, Escapees? My title says don’t tell, but it doesn’t mean I don’t want you to tell me everything. For almost four years I’ve been doing the talking…turning my thoughts inside out…attempting to be funny…providing useless valuable tips. I love it.
Well, that was easy. Kody and Meri pressed the easy button and voila, they’re divorced. I guess when you have four wives divorcing one isn’t a big loss. In the case of TLC’s Sister Wives, there is no loss at all for Kody. He and Meri will remain “close”. She’s still a Sister Wife, just not legally married to Kody after 25 years of putting up with his other 15 children, and multiple wives.
I get many questions coming in from readers all over the world. I like to feature a question that many women can relate to. It’s valuable to share and discuss common questions readers have about their divorce but sometimes I get questions about a failing marriage. I usually respond in a gentle way. Here on the blog we can explore this scenario further. I can be a little more harsh…tell it like it is as they say.
