Shadowed Secrets

Shadowed secrets

Weight my mind

Ground me in clouds

Greyer than time

Do you remember me?

Or am I a figment

Of a lie

You pretend to deny

Open now to sunlight

In the gloom

I make no sound

Simply pray

On a starlit wing

Returning to me

my soul replete

Treading lightly

In a new day

It is a treat to read poetry from you, Lisa. It made me wonder what kind of secrets we may keep, and what the mind wants to hide from others. I found the choice of photo accompanying the photo very interesting. Sort of reminds me of someone trying to find themselves. Or maybe hiding themselves from the world. Sometimes we wonder what secrets hide and also what they may reveal – maybe they reveal more about ourselves. Hope you have been doing well 😊❤

      Thank you, Mabel. How sweet!
Yes, secrets are a whole intriguing topic.
Very thoughtful interpretation of secrets, Mabel. Remember the childhood game ‘share a secret’? That always made me nervous even though I could never think of one. 😀

Your self-help books on divorce and blog posts sound particularly helpful, and I’m definitely interested in checking out ‘The Wine Diaries’ and ‘A Divorce Companion’. It’s also lovely to see your poem included – your creativity truly shines through in all your work!

I wonder, what are the shadowed secret(s) in my mind?
The one(s) that keep me up at night? The questions I ask myself. What will let me sleep tonight?

    What is yours?

Lisa – You got me thinking.

I suppose they are different for each person who holds them. We do all have a few, I think.
Yours? Could be what keeps you up at night but the shadows also help us sleep through.
      Glad to get you thinking!

Nice Lisa, I mean nice poetry.
Shadows come and go, sometimes it’s tough to have them around. I pray for you to find some light Lisa.
    Take care
