Christmas Carols Hidden Meanings

If you feel like me, you may be tired of the Christmas carols. Enough already. One more Jingle Bells and I’ll have to jingle away somewhere warm. So to make it fun I’ve interpreted the “hidden meaning” in a few of these time honored Christmas Carols we’ve all come to love.

Christmas Carols funny hidden meanings according to Lisa

“Last Christmas” by Wham:

Nothing good comes from a couples only ski retreat.

“Baby It’s Cold Outside” by pick any artist:

Guy mansplains the weather to a woman he’s attracted to.

“All I Want For Christmas” by Mariah Carey:

Spoiled, rich woman with a tiny dog wants the one thing she can’t have for Christmas.

“My Favorite Things” by Julie Andrews:

Maria may be fresh out of the nunnery but she isn’t all innocence. In fact,  she left out one of her favorite things in this classic song. When the dog bites and the bee stings, Maria really wants The Captain but try telling his kids that.

“Blue Christmas” by any aritst:

He or she only misses you at Christmas and the rest of the year, they don’t even notice if you’re there or not. But you should feel bad for them because you chose a white Christmas over their blue one.

“Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer” by The Rovers

Grandpa ‘got rid of’ Grandma on Christmas eve (after she did all the work of cooking, baking, buying and wrapping gifts) and blamed one of the reindeer. Hey, his grandson believed him, maybe the police will too.

“Driving Home For Christmas” by Chris Rea:

The guy bought himself a fancy, mid-life crisis sports car and now he’s driving it home for Christmas to show it off. “Driving in my car…can’t wait to see those faces…” yeah, when they see your shiny new car. 😛

“Do They Know It’s Christmas?” by Bandaid:

A group of famous singers explains Christmas to a nation that doesn’t celebrate it. But it was for a good cause.

“Mary’s Boy Child” by Boney M:

About a boy who was born in a barn which worked out pret-ty good for him but for the rest of us, that meant we hadn’t been raised properly or that we had bad manners.

“Gloria in Excelsis Deo” by Padre Antonio Giannoni

Someone, anyone really, named Gloria is going to the highest heaven.

What’s your favorite Christmas carol and do provide it’s hidden meaning if you so desire. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours! See you in 2022.

Funny! Makes you think that the real meanings are probably what you said, or even more bizarre. Especially Julie Andrews! Although she should just say what she means, because I relate to that one.

Right? 😀 Good to know you got a laugh here, Marie. It’s all over now, thank goodness. Not that I don’t love the season but the music starts a bit too early. Take care, Marie!

My favorite Christmas Carol would be “Let Mortal Flesh Keep Silence”.

It’s too holy sounding for me to think up a parody of it… But I do remember part of a parody of “Joy to the World” that my daughter sang when in the first grade

“Joy to the World, Barney’s Death. We barbequed his head. Don’t worry about the body. We flushed it down the potty, and round and round it goes, and round and round it goes, and round and roound and round it goes.

Jeff, I found you in my spam file. Well, that sounds like a prayer and indeed better left alone. I will have to check it out. LOL on your daughter’s Joy to The World. I’m wondering who poor Barney is. 😀
