The truth is in his name.
A trick,
A lucky card.
He warned you himself
With his crimes and coercion
But you ignored it all.
You wanted so badly to believe
His campaign promises.
That is his power; to deceive.
His entitlement an understatement,
Overt greed his contagion.
For didn’t you want everything he represents?
So you voted your sacred power away
and now you awaken chained and starved.
Only to look in the mirror
And see his face.
A demented twist of fate.
When will you learn the price of siding with evil?
Now your bible is meaningless
Since you’ve learned nothing from it.
And you cannot pray yourself out of a cage.

October 21, 2025 at 5:01 amA poem that makes us think, Lisa. It seems to speak of our times, and of how things are not always what they seem. Sometimes people are all talk and no action, and promises were never there to begin with. Its interesting where we are headed next collectively, and I hope that we have more respect and compassion towards each other. Lovely to read your writing again, and of course to see you again, Lisa. Hope you have been doing well. Much love to you 😊

October 24, 2025 at 7:57 amHi Mabel, thanks for stopping over and weighing in on a topic many want to avoid. It will be a time for healing once he is finished his term. I think many are proud of what he is doing and blind to his greed and lies.
Hope you’re well too Mabel. Sending love to you down under 🙂

October 14, 2025 at 3:25 pmThis powerful poem captures the harsh reality of misplaced trust and the consequences of deception in leadership. The vivid imagery and emotional depth really provoke reflection on personal responsibility and the cost of choices made. It’s a poignant reminder that we must stay vigilant and true to our values to avoid becoming trapped by those who exploit power for greed.Thank you for sharing such a stirring and thought-provoking piece.

October 24, 2025 at 7:55 amHi Kirti, you’ve summarized the situation and the poem so well. With freedom comes great responsibility (I think a former president famously said that many decades ago). As well as democracy and freedom of choice. Oh, but the promises were so good…GROCERIES.

October 24, 2025 at 7:52 amHi Jeff, I’m sorry for the Americans who expected something (someone) else. Now his ‘Ballroom’… estimated $300 mill. He says he’ll donate his own money…HE WON”T. WELL. we seem to be suffering together in some respects. But we are still friends, Jeff. We’ll get through this.
Nice to see you pop in!
