A must read. Too Much and Never Enough by Mary L. Trump paints a nuanced picture of a DYSFUNCTIONAL family and the consequences of raising a son who answers to no one and gets everything he wants.

“The World’s Most Dangerous Man” as the author coins him, is now the POTUS without a conscience. Donald Trump, second son of Fred Trump Sr., has risen in the political ranks with a seemingly empty soul. He’s demolished businesses and people along the way. Mary, also a psychologist, sheds light on how he came to be and what it cost her and her father.

Untamed was my first Glennon Doyle read. I’ve heard her name buzzed in Good Reads and various places such as, ahem, Oprah. Now this book is a Reese Witherspoon choice. So…I was anxious to read this one and the description grabbed my attention.

I’ve recently finished reading the non-fiction, self help book,  Allow Yourself To Be a Better Person by Balroop Singh. I felt compelled to share my review with all of my Escapees. Why? Because not only did I love this book but I’m sure you will also find value in Balroop’s wisdom.

Well, as promised, I have finished reading and I’m ready to share with you my review of Dr. John T. Chirban’s Collateral Damage; Guiding and Protecting You Child Through the Minefield of Divorce. (And I thought the title of my book was long).  I was given two advance copies for an honest review and giveaway here at the blog. The book is slated for publication this month. That means, the books I have for the giveaway are pre-published editions and as such have no page numbers and the Foreward is not included.

The Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown is definitely an antidote to therapy.  In therapy we look inside to see where we went wrong…but in the book, Brene reminds us to look outside ourselves and see the big picture.  It’s comforting when you’re going through difficult life changes, to know that it’s better to look at the big picture than focusing on your flaws.

Book Review…i and the Great Divide by Fiona McGlynn

New author Fiona McGlynn has created, with illustrator Robin Urquhart a book that explains divorce for children.  i And the Great Divide is a simple and visually appealing book designed to help the younger child understand divorce in their family.  The most important message in the book? It’s not your fault…ever.  Mom and Dad still love you.
