Quote Of The Week

by , on
January 27, 2015

It’s been a while since I’ve done a quote of the week. I was going to review the movie “Cake” with Jennifer Aniston here at the blog but when I watched the trailer it looked too depressing. Don’t let the title fool you, it isn’t fluffy and sweet. So, I didn’t go.  If you’ve seen the movie let me know your thoughts on it in the comments. Instead today’s post is short & sweet. I want to share this quote:

quote of the week

It might feel like you’re banging your head against the wall, time is standing still, nothing is getting better, no one is listening…but trust in the process. Know that every little thing you do makes a difference in moving forward.  It’s not until we look back that we see how far we’ve come and the changes we’ve made in our life.

“Isn’t it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back everything is different…”

-C.S. Lewis

That is a good quote and see it as a tremendous amount of perspective from person to person too. I’ve been blown away with seeing how much time has flown by. The Life Gods need to find a way to reverse that some day 🙂

Hey Mike, The Life Gods and the Time Gods, if only we could slow it down. Great to see you Mike! 🙂

It’s not something we give much thought to but really, we make small changes everyday. 🙂

Great quote, and you know what? Thank god it doesn’t stay the same. We wouldnt want to be the same person we are five years ago would we?

Oh wow – I love that quote. Like Kim, sometimes this time of year feels like Groundhog Day to me, and that nothing gets better.. or even worse.
But sometimes there’s little cracks growing, or rather little flowers growing in cracks.
And you look back and WOW.

Right. It’s all in the look back where we see what we’ve actually accomplished or overcome. Hope you had a wonderful holiday and I know you’ll share your photos at your blog! 🙂

I love that quote! And it’s so true. I always look at the day to day happenings, or even the past couple of months, and feel as though nothing has changed. When I look back years, though, while I see a lot is the same, I know a lot has changed.

Hi Chrys, yes everything seems the same day after day. Then when we look back we gain that perspective and realize the changes we’ve made. Time is a funny thing…

    Hi Lisa,

That is the amazing secret of life…it goes on yet we feel stuck in certain moments, we never let go those memories, attachments and pains. We change so much physically and emotionally yet we feel we are the same! Ever looked at your old pictures? it is fun and hours just fly!

Thanks for sharing this wonderful truth, condensed within this quote!

      January 27, 2015 at 11:24 pm

How perfectly expressed, Balroop. Thank you!!

It’s funny because I actually used to dwell on the mundane and the everyday because I wasn’t living life to its potential. Now that I found my purpose, everything has changed and each day is never the same. I am a work in progression and I know you are too, Lisa!!

      January 27, 2015 at 5:49 pm

That’s awesome, Gina! Ya, I’m certainly a work in progress. some days just a piece of work. 🙂
