If you’re going to go for it you might as well do it in style. Yup, divorce style. I’m not talking about clothing either. This isn’t a fashion blog. Sometimes I wish it was. Then I could talk about shoes, hand bags, make up, cashmere vs. silk (which I have the odd time). Instead, I talk about lawyers, divorce law, parental alienation, bullies,

Memories Are Closer Than They Appear

by , on
September 22, 2015

Do you hang on to those negative memories a little too long? Wishing they had been different. Maybe wishing you had been different—said something different? I do. I try not to but there I go…remembering stuff again. Sometimes these memories pop up at the weirdest times, lurking and waiting to own my mind once again.

Are You Worthy?

by , on
September 8, 2015

First, YES, you are worthy. WE are all worthy. Except isn’t it true that we have been either taught or heard that recording in our minds that says we are NOT worthy? WE do not deserve…but it’s a lie. An absolute lie. You are worthy and deserving.

adjective: worthy; comparative adjective: worthier; superlative adjective: worthiest
  1. deserving effort, attention, or respect.
    “generous donations to worthy causes”

Believing we are worthy is the very first step toward wanting & striving for a better life. For example, accepting that we do in fact deserve: that mother’s day card, that hug, that raise, that promotion, that love…

Not long ago, the word Chakra came onto my radar. How did it come up? Well, the store I worked in sold jewelry related to our Chakras.

For example, there is a troll bead (as seen in this image) to represent each Chakra. Trollbeads are glass beads that are designed to be worn on bracelet or necklace.

This post was updated June, 2020.

So, a while back I posted Lisa’s Divorce Movie Countdown. It was very well received so I thought it was time for a tv version.

It’s always great to discover a new show that makes you laugh and cry but mostly one that you can relate to the characters so much that you feel they’re living your story. Okay, I haven’t found a divorce show quite as good as all that but I have found some that are pretty realistic and entertaining at the same time.

Our divorce proceedings dragged on from 2005-2012. Yup, 2012 was the final signing off on an agreement. Ultimately that agreement says everybody’s happy now walk away

Dear Lisa-Reader Question

by , on
February 24, 2015

I get many questions coming in from readers all over the world. I like to feature a question that  many women can relate to. It’s valuable to share and discuss common questions readers have about their divorce but sometimes I get questions about a failing marriage.  I usually respond in a gentle way. Here on the blog we can explore this scenario further. I can be a little more harsh…tell it like it is as they say.

Is Your Fear Holding You Back?

January 23, 2015

Fear is part of human nature. It’s a necessary emotion designed to keep us from harm. But what about FEAR that holds us back from trying, challenging, leaving, starting, knowing, believing…?  It stops us.

Fear causes doubt and hesitation.  We need to overcome it to meet the challenge, to try that thing, to go forward and take the next step. It’s scary but it can be done.

Have You Found Your Handyman?

Ryan Reynolds would make a dreamy handyman

Warning: this post is full of double meanings and suggestive scenes. Ladies, have you found your HANDYMAN yet? Every ‘single’ woman needs a HandyMan on her speed dial. Preferably, he’ll know how to use a variety of tools to fix your broken toilet OR your broken heart…”hey Baby, I’m your handy man…” As James Taylor crooned back in the day.
